Collection is refused until the current version is accepted for this account. Acceptance is recorded once and is immutable.

Collect with your own Instagram account, in your own browser, with the Power Scraping Collector extension (desktop Chrome, Edge or Brave). We never see your Instagram password. How the Collector works

1. Install the Power Scraping Collector

   On a computer, in Chrome, Edge or Brave. Phones, Safari and Firefox cannot collect.

   Download the Collector (.zip) Version 0.2.0

   For the pilot, load it unpacked:

   1. Unzip the download into a folder you will keep.
   2. Open chrome://extensions (edge://extensions in Edge, brave://extensions in Brave).
   3. Turn on Developer mode.
   4. Click Load unpacked and choose the unzipped folder.

   A Chrome Web Store listing is coming; until then the pilot installs this way.

2. Create a pairing code

   The code is single-use, pairs one browser with your login, and expires after 10 minutes.

3. Paste it into the extension and confirm

   Click the Power Scraping Collector icon in the browser toolbar (pin it from the extensions menu if you cannot see it), paste the code, check the organisation name, give the browser a name you will recognise and press Confirm. It then appears in the list below.

Disconnect revokes a browser at once. We delete a disconnected browser's record - its name, the Instagram handle it reported and its timestamps - 30 days after it is disconnected.

Collection runs in the Power Scraping Collector in your own browser, and every job needs your click to start: a job waiting for your browser stays there until you open the Collector and press Start (set up the Collector). Running jobs refresh automatically. Collection stops at the first Instagram warning, challenge or logout, and the job says so - nothing ever works around an access control.
